It's not uncommon
for current fashion and beauty looks to return to seasons
past.
Case in point: this season's fall beauty trends.
Taking a page from
its fashion counterparts, this season's beauty looks
range from vintage to updated mod. With looks taken
from the 40s, 50s and 60s --- even a dash of the 70s
tossed in, Fall 2004 blends a little something from
each decade. It's anything goes, as long as it came
from the past. One consistent element seen is the
touch of femininity, no matter what decade a look
is being drawn from.
Here are a few looks
from this season that captured our attention:
★Hip and Happening
Look - think of Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy.
This look focuses
on the eyes. The eyes are bold, but not harsh like
the original 60s look (remember the heavy fake eyelashes
and pale colors?) The use of a good mascara and eyeliner
are used to achieve a daring and defined, yet delicate
look.
★Simple Romantic Look - think of Marilyn Monroe.
Using the lips as
the center of attention, this looks exudes femininity.
It's soft and sensual without being overtly sexy (Marilyn
Monroe was just as sexy in THE MISFITS wearing blue
jeans as she was in SOME LIKE IT HOT wearing body
-hugging dresses). It's sun-kissed and sweet.
★Classic Look - think of Grace Kelly. This look
is clean and nude.
Monochromatic tones
are used on the eyes, cheeks and lips to give a neutral
palette, creating a classic, elegant look.
Three main products
that you will need to achieve this seasonユs looks
are a good foundation, mascara and rich-creamy lipsticks.
