BEAUTY TREND WATCH 2005: IT'S GLAMOUR ALL THE WAY!!
Clean and fresh. Classic. Mysterious. Sophisticated. You name it and we've seen these and every other beauty look known for the past seasons. They've all come around at least twice in the past few years. Glamorous looks, however, have been fleeting. An appearance here and there - mostly during the holiday season or for some special evening look.Well, 2005 is changing that. Glamour is back and in a big way. It's not the full-blown, over-the-top glamour seen in the 1960s. It's a bit more tempered. A bit more wearable. It's a look for every day not just for special occasions.
Most importantly, the look can be achieved in a minimal amount of time using very few products. First, make sure that your face has been thoroughly cleaned and moisturized face. Amy cautions that, "Putting makeup on skin that has not been properly cleansed beforehand cause breakouts and other horrible skin problems."
Define your cheekbones using a blush in the peach, bronze, plum or cinnamon hue family. You selection will depend upon your skin tone. Dust a small amount on your entire eyelid area as well.
Next, rim both your upper and lower eyelids (staying close to your lash line) with a deep brown or navy liquid or pencil liner. Amy suggests steering clear of the typical black eyeliner. Complete your look with a fabulous shade of red lips. Amy strongly feels that, "No matter what the complexion or skin tone there is a hue of red for every woman." Amy stresses three important points when selecting the right shade of red: your skin tone, product and proper application. Apple reds seem to work better for fairer complexions, while cinnamon tones work better for darker complexions. Amy also adds that you should keep your skin's undertones in mind as well when making your selection. Next, Amy says that while you may be tempted to couple a red lip color with a red lip liner, don't. The effect can be a bit overwhelming. Try a liner close to your own lip color instead. Lastly, application is everything, particularly when dealing with a color as strong as red. The wrong application techniques could leave you looking more like Bozo the Clown than the glamorous being your want to be. Start by lining your upper and lower lips. Add a little extra liner to the center of your lips. Next, apply your selection of red hue. Amy suggests using a lip brush for a more precise application of color. Gently blot your lips. Apply a second application of color and you're ready to go.
